Fourth of July Neighborhood Breakfast

4th of July Breakfast

Table from breakfast

In 2022 we were sitting in my parents' front yard watching all of the neighbors' fireworks and we decided we should contribute somehow since we didn't buy any of our own fireworks. The idea came to us that we could give a neighborhood pancake breakfast. We started right then to plan what our breakfast would look like and enjoyed planning it for the next 365 days!

We, of course, used the Tari Slicer to slice the strawberries and we had a bowl of strawberries, a bowl of blueberries, a plate of breakfast sausages, and a whole bunch of pancakes!

Pancakes, strawberries, and blueberries

My mom started on the pancakes about an hour and a half before the start of the breakfast and kept making them as people arrived. I sliced the strawberries and put the blueberries out around 15 minutes before people arrived and then we made the sausage and had it ready by the time the neighbors got there!

The whole breakfast was very simple but so very appreciated!! I can't even begin to tell you how many of the neighbors commented on how much they loved it and how grateful they were that we did this not only because it was fun and delicious, but also because now it opened up the invitation for other neighbors to plan neighborhood get togethers!

We are all about spending more time with your family all while making healthier choices and this was such a fun way to get to know our neighbors even better while doing a little service for them. It was such a nice gesture and was actually very easy to do! We borrowed chairs from our church and just set up a few tables out on my parents' driveway and sent out the cute invite I had made on Canva on the neighborhood Facebook page! What a success!
